Session 76
L2: The Assassin’s Knot
Dean (Thic Duc), Chris (Tiberium), Matt (Barron), Mariel (Leah), Coby (Warin), Jeff (Amathar), Leah (Ahira), Brian (Pyrzival), and Sherrie (Mirabelle) are returning cast members.
We left the Band of Misfits investigating a murder in Garrotten. We rejoin the Band of Misfits at the House of Abraham as they try to figure out how to get Barron’s nearly unconscious form, recently raised from the dead and still mostly dead, to the meeting he had arranged with Captain Basmar.
Under pressure, Basmar admitted to smuggling a cloaked figure to and from Highport shortly before and after the murder of the Duke. The figure had a deep, gravely voice and wore a sword under his cloak. Basmar claimed he did not recognize the person, and pointed to Oscar as the source of his instructions. He claimed to have met with the passenger in a forest south of Garrotten.
Searching the forest, the party discovered a hidden smuggler’s cache with a magical fountain of some kind. The rest of the cache contained supplies and smuggled cargo.
Using Tiberium’s Helm of True Seeing, the party discovered a secret back entrance into the castle. It opens at the back of the keep, in a small forest.
Oscar claimed there was a second passenger … before and after the murder of the wizard Jim, the council member who had sent them on their quest. That murder leaves only the High Priest and the Princess alive on the council. If the High Priest is slain, the Princess will be in charge.
To be continued…
